I have occasionally got different error messages including:įailed due to unexpected error 80004005. Since then I've tried many permutations of settings but nothing has worked. But then 5 mins later it told me that the server had timed out and nothing had been sent. But when I tried to send, it told me that it was 'connecting to Office 365.'. Success - I managed to login and download my emails. Some googling later I found out that MS needed more security so I changed authentication from normal password to OAuth2. Wouldn't let me log on and told me that my login/password details were incorrect but they were the same ones I could use to login to webmail so I knew they were correct. Initially when I set it up it all worked lovely. I've recently added a new work email to my thunderbird.
